With our Soaker Hose Kit there’s no need to carry heavy buckets of water from your water butt – or your mains tap – to the far reaches of your garden.
Selecting one of the fittings that comes with the kit, simply connect one end to your water butt tap and trail the rest of the hose around your garden. Because the hose is perforated along its entire 30m length, you can drip feed the length with a slow release of water.
By burying the hose beneath the soil, you can reduce water lost through evaporation (particularly if you water at night) while delivering straight to where it’s needed most – to the roots of your plants and shrubbery.
Requires only a low water pressure to operate. Remember to follow the advice of your water company regarding the use of hosepipes connected to the mains during the summer. If you intend to connect to the mains, consider buying a Water Timer.
Use responsibly: water authorities may require that where a hose system runs from the mains, you should incorporate a non-return valve to prevent back-syphoning. This occurs when there is a sudden loss in water pressure – through a broken pipe or the water being turned off for maintenance – allowing dirty water to be sucked into the mains, contaminating the system.
